[ Honestly, it hadn't even occurred to Pyrrha that Ozpin was without his own circle of confidantes. His friends. Part of her had been simply wrapped up in her own concerns; part of her hadn't condoned the possibility that he might have people he'd feel lesser without. At Beacon, he had always seemed... Tall. Separate. Unflappable.
Of course, she had believed in his immortality even more than she had believed in her own.
... that last, though. It almost wins a smile out of her. (Almost.) ]
He's had a long time to work on his landing strategy.
[ She keeps trying to be alright... Adults keep screwing it up. To put it succinctly. For obvious reasons (like her personality), she's a bit more restrained in what could be an uncomfortable complaint. ]
To tell you the truth...
I'm concerned that I haven't grown at all, as a combatant, in the past year.
[ Since Cinder. For Pyrrha, it has been almost an entire year. ]
[ for someone who is about 2,000 years old he really is good at one (1) thing ok ]
I've found the largest enemy in feeling stagnant and frustrated with progress is a lack of direction. I am no exception, though I believe my feeling of stagnation is harder to cure than most.
For you, it is a little different.
Consider how you'd like to improve, and why, and how I can assist in that. It doesn't necessarily have to be combat related; as we all know, I am a fan of telling stories, and if that would assuage your fears and concerns, I am more than happy to do that, as well.
It's a tall order. Rather like homework, she thinks. Pyrrha knows exactly why - if Cinder shows up, and she may well soon - then she has few options left to her. Fight and lose, again. Fight and possibly win. Do nothing. That last one is thoroughly unbefitting of a huntress, strategic necessity that chafes every last sensibility she has. Do nothing, and live, and continue to know that Amber's power is trapped in a malignant, hateful host.
How she would like to improve? She just-- she just does. She wants to level up. She wants to never end up on her knees again, waiting for the sound of an arrow pulled loose of its drawstring. It's diffcult to quantify such a thing. Would he even understand?
How he can assist...
Well, he could always turn her into a bear! :D ]
I may need some time to think on that.
[ Her response comes after considerable delay. He can take from that what he will. ]
I know what it is I want, just not how to achieve it. [ So much for being the prodigy of Beacon. ] Yet.

[ there's a slight pause before the next message. ]
How are you doing, as of late, Pyrrha?

[ whether he's speaking about himself, or someone else, he won't say. but it's likely a bit of both.
there's a pause before another message is sent. ]
Are you busy, later this afternoon?

[ She doesn't really give him anything more than that, though... ]

[ ozpin literally pays his rent by being a monster hunter because he's unemployable lbr. ]
I have frustration to sort through, and you seek additional training. It seems an open afternoon would be a good opportunity to do so.

[ It's not the worst idea anyone's had, and Pyrrha frequently worries about Ozpin's unemployable state - not that she really tells anyone this.
Yet, there is some slowness to her response. ]
What would you like me to do?
