[It's about mid-day when Ignis reaches out to his young friend. There's a small handful of people he intends to broach this particular subject with, each with their own unique skills to offer, but Pyrrha is among the first he chooses to ask. He sounds pleasant enough when he contacts her through the crystal, if a bit reserved-- but that's nothing out of the ordinary.]
Pyrrha, should you have a moment, I would like to ask a favor of you.
[ It's rare to hear from him on a day where she's not working, but Pyrrha hardly begrudges that fact. The truth is, with so many staff members having gone home recently, days where she isn't working are fewer and more far between than ever. With so much proximity, it's understandable he'd give her space on her days off.
That's not to say she's offended to hear from him. Far from it. There's a smile in her own mind-voice when she replies. ]
Of course. I'd be happy to oblige.
[ Pyrrha, you... don't even know what the favour is yet... ]
[He laughs softly, and it comes through the connection when he makes no effort to keep it to himself. He hasn't even asked properly yet, and she's already willing to lend a hand. That's just like her, he supposes.]
Given how much time you've been spending at the restaurant, I certainly understand if you'd rather decline, given that I'd be asking for more of your time. I was wondering if you might be interested in assisting me with a bit of combat training.
[ Beating up an old blind man? Sign her the fuck up! ]
[ That is to say, Pyrrha is happily quiescent. Part of her is flattered, that someone unfamiliar with both her notoriety and her downfall is turning to her for assistance regardless, when she'd all but put most of that behind her. ]
Not at all. That sounds lovely. [ That's one word for it, sure. ]
What did you have in mind?
[ Her weapon is broken, alas, but she can always just throw utensils at him with her mind or something. ]
I could use a sparring partner. Though my spatial awareness is not quite what it once was, there's only one way to improve that now, and that's practice. Lightning and Auron have also offered their assistance, but any foes I encounter in the future are unlikely to use the same combat style. I need to learn to adapt once more. I trust you won't go easy on me?
[ If she sounds in any well boastful, it's actually quite well-earned, up until the last ten minutes of her life. It's an exciting thought, a sparring partner she doesn't have to go at half speed for. ]
I'm generally available after the restaurant closes.

[He's not interested in being coddled.]
The more unpredictable, the better.

[ And, by remarkable coincidence, so is he. ]

Excellent. Gladiolus and I turned our basement into a training space before he left. We can work there.
[Much better than heading out into the cold to do it in the open.]

[ For a moment, the telepathic feedback falls away somewhat, as if she's distracted. And then -- ]
I'm sorry, Ignis. I have to go. I'll see you at work.
[ Where, presumably, they can arrange dates and shiz off-screen. ]
voice.
[They'll have plenty of time to work out the details there.]
